WOD Doc: Stability Solution for Elbow Pain
Episode 53: commonly ‘elbow pain’ can come from medial or lateral forearm flexors and extensors respectively. However, unresolved pain is coming from somewhere else. The elbow is (as per the Joint-by-Joint Approach) a stable joint, meaning pain can signify a lack of stability. Here, Dr. Tim addresses the distal insertion of the triceps (near the elbow) as well as the anconeus through usage of active movement on a barbell. Note, the anconeus lies below the elbow in the forearm, so be sure to externally rotate your shoulder and supinate your forearm to contact the anconeus. Below is an image for reference.
